About seven kilometers from Cebreros in the direction of Avila, we find El Burguillo: the oldest reservoir in all of Spain and the largest in the entire province of Avila, with an area of 910 hectares and a capacity of 208 cubic hectares. It is worth approaching even if only to contemplate its landscape in a unique environment that stretches for its 8 kilometers of shore. In addition, the Burguillo reservoir has a wide variety of water sports, fishing and excellent bathing areas.
It is highly recommended, if you have time, to approach the Iruelas Valley Nature Reserve, which is located a few kilometers from the dam, a rich ecosystem well prepared for quality rural tourism that has one of the largest populations of Black vulture of Europe, as well as great variety of flora and fauna.
